Abstract

1,100,149. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. MOOG Inc. April 25, 1966 [May 5, 1965], No. 18089/66. Heading G3P. A moving coil electro-hydraulic servovalve comprises a spool valve 56, controlling the supply and exhaust of fluid to and from a motor, which valve is controlled by a pilot valve 112 in response to an electrical signal fed to a coil 113. The spool valve 56 is urged to the right by a spring 68 and the pressure in chamber 51 and to the left by fluid-pressure in a chamber 79. Fluid is supplied to a groove 30 and passes through a restriction 95 and orifice member 89 to the chamber 79, the pressure being controlled by leakage through orifice 83 under the control of pilot valve 112. The pressure applied to chamber 51 is that between the valve 112 and a fixed orifice in a line leading to drain. The valve 112 is carried by a member 156 about which the coil 113 is wound, the coil being positioned in a gap between poles 115, 116, of magnetic material having a permanent magnet ring 117 between them. Movement of the member 156 is restricted by fingers 172.
