Abstract

1,099,813. Developing electrostatic images. CLEVITE CORPORATION. Oct.19, 1965 [Nov. 4, 1964; April 1, 1965], No.44221/65. Heading G2H. Electrostatic latent images, formed by an oscillating stylus on a record strip (17) Fig. 1 (not shown) are developed with liquid developer by passage under a head (21). The head (21) is supplied with developer from a reservoir (25) by a pump (30) which applies vacuum to the head. The head 21, Fig. 4, has a development compartment 34 sealed by the strip 17 which is drawn up against the face 35. Developer flows from chamber 52 into compartment 34 and into passageways 60 through openings 54 Fig. 3 (not shown). The passageways 60 are connected to pipe 28, Fig.1 (not shown). A modification of the head (21) is described with reference to Figs. 7 and 8 (both not shown) in which the developer flows along the path indicated by arrows 67, 69 Fig. 7 (not shown).
