A composite shelving or wardrobe structure includes uprights 1 with spaced openings 5, support brackets 6 with parallel tabs 7, 8 hooked through selected openings 5, a pair of parallel, C-section guides 14 supported by the brackets 6, and a hanger rail 16 with end portions (15) slidably engaged in the guides 14. The brackets 6 have horizontal portions 13 on which downturned side flanges 12 of shelves 9 may be supported.
