Abstract

1,098,552. Slag tap gasifiers. C.U.R.A. PATENTS Ltd. Oct. 5, 1964 [July 4, 1963], No. 26646/63. Heading F4B. In a slag tap gasifier having a number of tuyeres 7, which may be retractable, the arrangement of the tuyeres is such that the zone of intense reaction is inclined, so that an inclined slag path is formed at the bottom of the reaction zone leading to the slag outlet 4. The gasifier may have a central tuyere assembly, and the arrangement may be such that a stepped series of inclined slag paths lead to a number of outlets spaced round the furnace floor.
