Abstract
1,097,856. Proximity fuzes. DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FÍRSVARETS FABRIKSVERK. March 21, 1966, No. 12353/66. Heading F3A. A projectile proximity fuze which radiates sound or electromagnetic waves which are partially reflected by the target and received by the fuze, comprises a number of series or parallel connected impedance elements 1 in an electrical circuit for determining the sensitivity of the fuze, each impedance element being connected to a melting fuze 5, the terminals of the melting fuzes being connected to conductors 3, which penetrate an envelope 2 of the fuze but are insulated from the envelope by insulation members 4, the conductors terminating in plates 6 to which a voltage from an external source can be applied, whereby the fuze can be blown and the resulting impedance in the sensitivity-determining circuit altered. When the impedance elements are connected in series a melting fuze is connected in shunt with each element. When connected in parallel a melting fuze is connected in series with each impedance element.
