Abstract

A machine for degreasing articles, such as nuts, bolts, pinions or shafts, in open containers <PICT:1097698/C6-C7/1> 10, comprises a housing 13, e.g. having a degreasing station 22 and a drying station 23, conveyers 11, 12 and 14 to convey each container into and out of the housing, at least one head 25 within the housing arranged to engage the container opening to retain the articles within the container while being rotated with the head about a horizontal axis during the pumping of fluid through the container, e.g. via pipes 28, 29 (and 33 for hot air in drying station 23) and a perforated plate 26 comprised in the head 25. The machine housing may have up to four stations, e.g. for wash, rinse, rust inhibiting and drying treatments.
