Abstract

1,096,184. Stacking crates. MARLEY TILE CO. Ltd. March 22, 1966 [July 9, 1965], No.29231/65. Heading B8P. Crates each including a base 1 and an upper frame 6 supported above the base, have on the underside of the base a set of ridges or grooves, as shown, ridges 16, 17, and on the upper surface of the frame 6 a set of grooves or ridges respectively, as shown, notches 18, which interlock so that one crate can be mounted on another in any one of a plurality of stable positions, either wholly upon or partially overlapping each other. The synthetic resin bottle crate shown has an upper frame; 6 supported by pillars 5, 12 from the base 1, and has internal partitions (13) (Figs. 1 and 4, not shown). When one crate is placed wholly on another, the circumferential ridge 17 spigots within the upper frame 6. When otherwise superposed, ridges 16, 17 enter notches 18. Locking projections 19 may assist in limiting play by coaction with cut-aways 20. The pillars 5 are constructed as in Specification 1,096,183.
