Abstract
1,094,574. Making brickwork panels. A. SCHACH. Dec. 22, 1964 [Dec. 23, 1963; March 13, 1964], No. 51988/64. Headings E1B and E1S. In a method of prefabricating a storey-high or other brickwork panel the lowermost course 4 is laid on a vertically-movable base board 1 associated with a gauge framework 2, mortar is applied from a horizontallytravelling nozzle 6, and the board 1 is then progressively lowered so that succeeding courses of bricks may be laid and mortered all at the same level. The bricks may be perforated to receive vertical reinforcing rods, the vertical holes being filled with mortar from a nozzle 11 by inverting the Y-nozzle 6. Where the reinforcing rods pass through the joint between bricks, Fig. 6 (not shown), they are located by centering pieces (20). The completed panel is coated on one or both sides by moving it vertically past a plastering machine, and returning it past a scraping blade. The gauge framework 2 has hinged flaps 3. In a modification it is replaced by a frame, Figs. 7, 8 (not shown) including side clamping bars, the frame being removably gripped by a hoist on an overhead trolley. During construction a group of bricks forming a single course may be laid alongside the panel either on a displaceable loading frame, Fig. 4 (not shown) or between movable gripper bars, Fig. 5 (not shown), the whole course being then moved horizontally into position on top of the existing courses of the panel.
