Abstract

1,093,326. Grinding. CARBORUNDUM CO. April 15, 1966 [April 28, 1965], No. 16517/66. Heading B3D. An abrasive cut-off wheel comprises a central body portion 1 having radially extending circumferentially spaced apart posts 3, an abrasive sawtooth 2 between each pair of adjacent posts, and means secured to the posts for holding the abrasive teeth in place. The posts have bevelled lateral edges 4, Fig. 2, which converge towards the centre of the wheel and engage the tapered edges 5 of the teeth 2. Each tooth is secured to the wheel by shoes 9 which also have tapered edges engaging tapered edges 5 of the teeth and ribs 11 which abut the posts 3. Screws 12 urge the shoes towards the posts to secure the teeth to the wheel. The teeth have wings 8 extending over the posts to form a substantially continuous rim on the periphery of the wheel.
