1,093,305. Textile treating apparatus. G. FLEISSNER, H. FLEISSNER and H. FLEISSNER, [trading as ANSTALT FUER PATENTDIENST], Sept. 8, 1965 [Sept. 26, 1964], No. 38295/65. Heading D1L. A process for the wet treatment of loose fibrous material comprises floating the material in a circulated treatment liquid and forming the loose fibrous material into a fleece on the outside of a perforated drum partly immersed in the liquid, by applying suction to the inside of the drum, the loose fibrous material floating freely in the liquid and being carried along by it. Apparatus for carrying out the process comprises a container I with eccentrically mounted perforated rollers 4 assisting the movement of the loose fibrous material through a bath of treating liquid 2 towards a partially immersed, centrically mounted perforated drum 6 to which suction is applied, and a squeezing device 5 removing excess liquid from the fleece formed on the drum 6. The treating liquid drawn into the drum 6 is wholly or partially recirculated to the bath. An alternative embodiment comprises two centrically mounted suction drums partially immersed in treating liquid. Several baths may be arranged successively, partition walls being provided directly below the pairs of squeezing rollers. In one embodiment, a perforated intermediate bottom is provided for the recirculation of liquid.
