A shelving assembly comprises channel section uprights 10 each with a series of vertically elongated slots 102, and shelf brackets 13 each having a hook at its rear end for engaging over the bottom edge 101 of a slot 102. A transverse plate 133 welded to the rear edge of the bracket 13 bears on the front face 101 of the upright 10 and has a depending tongue 134 engaged with a further slot 102.
