Abstract

[Also in Division G1] In a device for indicating the accumulation of a liquid such as that in the bottom of a refrigerator wherein a pair of plates 18. 19 separated by insulators 20 and located in the bottom of the refrigerator casing 10 are connected by wires 24 and arranged so that when the plates are shorted by liquid a circuit is completed and an alarm device 25 operated, there is provided a tube 21 carrying salt tablets 23 to ensure electrical conductivity of the liquid by solution therein of one or more of the tablets 23. A heater 27 may be used to prevent ice formation. A conductive area of the casing may replace the lower plate.
