Abstract
1,092,614. Loading vehicles. UMHLALI FARMERS SERVICES (PROPRIETARY) Ltd. April 14, 1966 [April 15, 1965]. No. 16470/66. Heading B8E. A trailer 14 has a chassis 12 to an edge of which is pivoted a flap 22 to the free edge of which a load platform 10 is pivoted. To load articles 30 such as logs or sugar cane a sling 28 attached to the chassis 12 is passed under the articles around pulleys on a post 16 to a winch 28a. On rotation of the winch the articles are drawn together and into contact with the platform 10 which then pivots about the flap 22 which supports the load on the ground during the movement until the centre of gravity of the load is substantially within the contour of the trailer and the flap then pivots up to lie with the platform 10 in a horizontal plane.
