Abstract

1,088,410. Windscreen wipers. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Aug. 3, 1966 [Aug. 7, 1965], No. 34753/66. Heading A4F. A windscreen wiper comprises a rubber or rubber-like wiper blade 1 having longitudinal grooves 8 accommodating metallic stiffening bars 2 which are secured against longitudinal displacement in the grooves by retaining shoulders 17 on the wiper blade, the retaining shoulders 17 being formed on projections 16 which extend from the bases of the grooves and which fit into recesses 18 in the adjacent edges of the stiffening bars 2. The wiper blade comprises further longitudinal grooves 11 which accommodate claws (9) (Fig. 1, not shown) of a blade supporting assembly comprising a main yoke (4) and auxiliary yokes (5), the further grooves 11 being provided with projections (23) (Fig. 5, not shown) of saw-tooth shape which together with an end portion of the wiper blade - form shoulders (20) against which two of the claws (9) are abutted. The end portion also provides a shoulder 15, Fig. 4, which forms an end abutment for the bars 2.
