Abstract
1,088,243. Endless conveyers; stacking- machines. ABJORN ANDERSON A.B. Nov. 3, 1964 [Nov. 6, 1963], No. 44797/64. Headings B8A and B8C. Bricks to be stacked on a carriage (31) (Fig. 3, not shown) are arranged in rows of a predetermined sequence after being fed from a kiln (not shown) by a conveyer 1. The bricks are backed up against a stop 9 formed by the vertically-oscillatable framework of an endless conveyer 6. The rise and fall of the conveyer 6 is derived from a cam wheel 25, the profile 26 of which is arranged in accordance with the desired brick sequence. The conveyer 6 runs at a faster speed than the conveyer 1 and at a faster speed than a following conveyer 18 which has flights 19. The bricks thus collect in the desired sequence on the conveyer 18 and are transferred by a reciprocating pusher (29<SP>1</SP>) operated by a crank (34) (Fig. 4, not shown) driven by a motor (40). The bricks are pushed through aligning guides (42) on to a conveyer (30) from which the bricks are transferred to the carriage (31) by a gripper (not shown). There may be a second system identical with the above but feeding towards the carriage (31) in a direction at right angles to the conveyer (30) of the first system. This obviates the need for transferring gripper to be rotatable.
