[Also in Division B7] A submarine cable 15 is clamped against a fixed jaw 13 by a pivoted segment 7 which is biased towards the fixed jaw by gravity and, if required, a spring. Any tendency of the cable to move out of engagement with the jaws causes the grip to increase. More than two sets of jaws may be provided.
