Abstract

1,086,971. Conveyers, chains &c. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. Jan. 7, 1965 [Jan. 14, 1964], No. 1655/64. Heading B8A. Hydraulic chocks 17, 18 are connected to the frame 14 of a longwall conveyer by a transverse flexible laminated beam 11. The latter passes through a rectangular aperture 23 (Fig. 3, not shown) in the base of each chock. Hydraulic rams 27, 28 are rigid respectively with the chocks 17, 18, and their piston-rods 29, 30, are connected to the frame 14, to enable lateral movement of the chocks to be effected. Further chocks 19, 20 are movable in a direction parallel with the conveyer by rams 31, 32. A series of push-buttons 45 on a console 43 control the four chocks for lifting lowering and locking and the four rams for extension retraction and locking.
