Abstract

3 - (o - fluorophenyl) - 1 - methyl urea is prepared by reacting o-fluoroaniline with methyl isocyanate in dioxane.ALSO:A herbicidal composition comprises 3-(o-fluorophenyl)-1-methyl urea together with a carrier which is (a) a solid or an oil, preferably also containing a surface active agent, (b) a liquid other than an oil and a surface active agent or (c) a surface active agent. The composition may also contain another compound known to be a herbicide, numerous examples of which are specified.
