Abstract

A cylinder and dial circular knitting-machine mounted on three legs equally spaced around a frame ring includes a dial drive housing adjustably supported on three struts, so that the dial may be accurately centred upon the cylinder. The drive shaft for the cylinder and dial is driven, via a belt, by either of two motors, one being regulable and each having an electro-magnetic clutch, mounted on the periphery of the frame ring. The main drive shaft has an electromagnetic brake and drives a take-down drive shaft via a belt.
