Abstract

1,082,773. Stencilling-apparatus. KLOCKNER-WERKE A.G. March 24, 1965 [March 26, 1964], No. 12470/65. Heading B6C. Apparatus for marking sheets 3 of metal &c. comprises a rotatable member supporting or constituting at least one stencil and adapted to be driven during marking by the sheet to be marked, and a spraying device 5 for spraying the marking fluid located inside the member, said device being actuated on rotation of a control cam 7 rigidly attached to the said rotatable member. The member may include a pair of annular members 1, 1<SP>1</SP> supporting at least one cardboard or sheet metal stencil; alternatively the design may be punched out of the surface of a roller. The fluid is sprayed from the device 5 when a contact roller 6a engages a recess 6 in the cam 7. The spraying may be controlled by magnetic, electric or hydraulic auxiliary means. Magnetic means may be provided to raise or lower the stencil apparatus depending on the position of the sheet to be printed. The apparatus may be mounted on ball-bearings, Fig. 2 (not shown), supported on a plate which may be moved hydraulically.
