Abstract

1,082,265. Boots &c. EXER-SHOE CORPORATION. June 29, 1965, No. 27425/65. Heading A3B. A therapeutic shoe has a sole 2 consisting of a continuous marginal edge 3 and longitudinal and transverse ribs 5 which define cells in which may be placed weights 10. The sole is made by die-stamping sheet material to form the cellular structure leaving the cells filled by the material of the sole and after assembly in the shoe the plugs are removed and replaced by weights in the desired configuration. Where no weights are added the plugs of sole material are left in the cells. The upper surface of the sole is covered by a removable lining 15 and the lower surface is covered by a removable lining 15 and the lower surface is covered by a tread sole 9 and a heel 12, 14 which may also contain weights.
