Abstract
108,164. White, A. E., (American Alloys Co.). April 26, 1916. Alloys.-An alloy comprises not less than about 55 per cent. of nickel or cobalt or both, 15 to 35 per cent of chromium either alone or with one or more metals such as tungsten or titanium, and not more than 10 per cent of silicon, other metals such as copper and manganese being added to give fluidity and homogeneity. One such alloy is made by melting together 60 to 75 per cent of nickel, 15 tc 20 per cent of chromium, 5 per cent of copper, 4 per cent of silicon, 1 to 4 per cent of tungsten, 2 per cent of aluminium, 3 per cent of manganesetitanium (two-thirds manganese) or 2 per cent of manganese and 1 per cent of boron, most of the aluminium and some of the copper being burned out during manufacture.
