Abstract

1,080,816. Joint-making packing; pipe joints. CELANESE BUILDING COMPONENTS Ltd. Nov. 24, 1965 [Nov. 25, 1964], No. 47882/64. Headings F2B and F2G. A seal between the outlet 9 of a water closet pan and a soil pipe 3 comprises a cylindrical part 1, inwardly directed lips 8 and a shroud 6 for retaining the seal in position during assembly. Ribs 4 are provided on the cylindrical part. The seal may be made from natural or synthetic rubber or thermoplastic material; preferably, the seal is moulded from a vulcanized chloroprene rubber compound.
