An infra-red gas burner comprises a body 4 having a gas inlet 7 a ceramic plate 1, gas outlet 9 and a covering plate 5 of heat-resisting glass. The ceramic plate 1 is provided with apertures 3 arranged in longitudinal or oblique rows with the outlets connected by grooves 50 of triangular or rectangular cross-section and running longitudinally transversely or obliquely.
