A device for measuring fluid-flow rates through a duct 5, such as air in a ventilating system, has one or more open-ended circular tubes 3, of a diameter no greater than 0À0833 of the internal diameter of duct 5, mounted within the duct 5 at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the duct 5 and provided with a plurality of holes 6 facing upstream of the duct 5 and one or more circumferentially disposed apertures 7 of a diameter no greater than 0À1 of the internal diameter of the duct 5, formed at or adjacent to the open ends of the tubes 3 and means for measuring the pressures in tubes 3 and apertures 7. The device may be coupled to a damper for the automatic setting of such damper. The holes 6 may be replaced by a slab.
