Abstract

1,080,089. Stackable containers; packages. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. July 8, 1966 [July 9, 1965], No. 30875/66. Headings B8C and B8D. Adjacent cans 30, 31 having chimes 18 at one end only and chimeless rounded or bevelled portions 19 at the other, as described in Specification 1,080,088, are arranged inverted with respect to each other so that the portion 19 of one can receives the chime 18 of the other, the cylindrical surfaces of adjacent cans thereby being in contact. The cans are secured together by a strip 27 or a sleeve (26), Fig. 1 (not shown), of sheet material, preferably a heat-shrinkable thermoplastic. Finger holes may be provided by melting through the sheet. Alternatively, a loop handle 28 may be attached, Fig 4 (not shown).
