Abstract
1,079,011. Shutters for ventilating systems. MYSON HEAT EXCHANGERS Ltd. April 16, 1964 [April 16, 1963], No. 14921/63. Heading ASA. [Also in Division F4] A vertical outlet duct 10 in a ventilating system terminates in an upper opening normally closed by two shutter blades 14 each carried on a central horizontal shaft 15 together with a counterbalancing weight 17 (Fig. 3, not shown). Beneath each shutter blade there is mounted a horizontal shaft 20 loaded by a torsion spring 22 (Fig. 3, not shown) which carries an arm 21. This arrangement is held in an inoperative position free from the shutters by means of a fusible link 26 which, when ruptured, allows the arms to force open the shutters. In an alternative arrangement in Fig. 4 (not shown), the arm acting on each shutter is held by a separate fusible link and actuated by a separate spring.
