Abstract

1,077,801. Electromagnetics. NOSTORAG A.G. April 23, 1965. [April 23, 1964], No. 17149/65. Heading H1P. [Also in Division F2] An electromagnetically-actuated three-way valve has two threadedly-adjustable seats 13, 14 withwhich co-operates a moving closure member formed by an extension 9 of a laminated' flap-armature 2 that coacts with a laminated U-shaped yoke 1; the armature 2 is provided with a shading, ring 3 and surrounded by a winding 6. A. diaphragm 10, which seals the electromagnet from the valve, is acted upon by the controlled fluid and has a central portion which surrounds the extension 9, and a support fitting 15. The electromagnet is encased in plastics material 24 a part of which acts as a bearing for an upper armature extension 22. A lubricant or damping oil inlet 25 is provided. Spring- urged pistons 28 (Fig. 2; not shown), engage the shading ring to load the armature which pistons are a loose fit in: cylinders filled with a viscous material to damp the movement of the armature; damping may also be effected by appropriately dimensioning the pistons 28. The loading may be effected by leaf spring. The armature may be manually actuated by a cam 31 from a lever loaded, by a torsion spring. The winding isenergized: over contact 7 whilst a third earth contact 8 is also provided.
