Abstract

1,077,798. Electrically heated chairs. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 13, 1965 [Oct. 8, 1964], No. 41106/64. Heading H5H. A chair contains a heating element of reinforced conducting organopolysiloxane elastomer to which electrodes are attached. A substrate (10, Fig. 1, not shown), consisting of a film, woven, felted or knitted fabric of glass cloth, polyethylene terephthalate, a synthetic linear superpolyamide or cotton is coated with a composition including a metal powder or carbon black dispersed in toluene and which is cured to form the elastomer. Wire, gauze or foil electrodes (11) are attached to the element with adhesive, by stitching, stapling or embedding in the composition before curing or by weaving into the fabric.
