Abstract

1,077,372. Mixing fluid streams. OZONAIR ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Feb. 20, 1964 [Feb. 26, 1963], No. 7766/63. Heading B1C. [Also in Division F4] A mixing box 10 of air conditioning apparatus is supplied with hot, cold and humilified air through ducts 11, 12 and 13 respectively, and control means are provided to ensure that the volume flow rate of mixed air through the box outlet 26 remains constant. The control means comprise valves 14, 15, and 16 each of which is formed by five vanes which may be expanded by means of internal rubber bladders. Three of the vanes of the valve 14 are operated by a thermostat 17 and three vanes of the valve 16 are operated by a humidistat 24. The remaining vanes of the valves 14 and 16 and all the vanes of the valve 15 are operated by a static pressure regulator 18 to maintain the constant flow rate through the opening 26. Sound insulating glass fibre walls for the mixing box are provided. The humidified air supply preferably has 100% humidity and is so controlled as to be at the same dry bulb temperature as the air leaving the mixing box.
