Abstract

A moulding composition comprises a mixture of isotactic polypropylene and from 1 to 50% by weight of the mixture of low-pressure polyethylene having a reduced viscosity in solution, measured in p-xylene at 110 DEG C. of at least 1.8 and less than 6.0, a density of at least 0.95 g./c.c., a methyl group content of not more than 5 methyl groups per 1000 C atoms, and an inhomogeneity not greater than 8. In Example 1, powdered isotactic polypropylene is mixed with different quantities of polyethylene powder with the addition of stabilizers, the mixtures are granulated and test specimens are prepared therefrom. In Example 2, isotactic polypropylene is mixed with polyethylene having a density of 0.951 and a reduced viscosity in solution of 3.7.
