Abstract

1,076,386. Coffin container. R. TOUYET. April 27, 1965 [Aug. 12, 1964], No. 17751/65. Heading A5X. [Also in Division B8] A container for a coffin (as illustrated with reference to Fig. 3) comprises an open-topped box of synthetic resin, and a lid 7 of synthetic resin and formed with a continuous peripheral ridge 5 adapted to fit into a continuous upwardly facing groove 4 in the rim of the box, whereby an hermetic seal may be obtained. The lid preferably is provided with a continuous flange 8 which assists in forming the seal. The container is used for preserving coffins in tombs and vaults.
