Abstract

Polymers are disclosed containing monomers of formula <FORM:1075626/C3/1> wherein R, R1, R2, R3 and R4 may be H, C1- 6 alkyl, C6- 12 aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, n = 1 to 20. The N substituent group is preferably, pent-4-enyl, 4-methyl pent-4-enyl, hex-5-enyl, 10-phenyl undec-10-enyl or tricos-22-enyl, whilst the polymer preferably contains 10 to 1000 monomers. The preparation of the monomers is described in Specification 1,075,628. The polymers are prepared by treating the monomers with benzoyl peroxide, TiCl3 + (C2H5)2AlCl or BF3 under a nitrogen atmosphere at elevated temperature.
