Abstract
1,075,347. Slicing machines. J. ZAPOMEL. June 24, 1964 [June 27, 1963], No. 26027/64. Heading A4C. A meat slicing machine comprises a feed carriage 1 which is reciprocated adjacent a rotary knife 3, a plurality of conveyer belts 5 fitted with carrier pins 14 and extending perpendicularly to the cutting plane, pivotal arms 16 for removing cut slices from the conveyer belts 5 to a piling station, and an inclined guide 13 located adjacent the knife 3 and extending towards the belts 5 to direct cut slices to the pins 14. The guide 13 comprises end portions extending parallel to the cutting plane and the belts 5 respectively and an intermediate portion inclined to the cutting plane, and is adjustable mounted. Reciprocation of the belts 5 is synchronized with the carriage 1 movement by a rack 12 on the carriage 1 which operates conveyer drive gears 11, 10. The arms 16 are operated by a solenoid 17 actuated by a contact 18 at the end of the carriage 1 stroke. The guide rollers 6, 7 of the belts 5 are spring loaded to ensure even tension in the belts 5. In an alternative arrangement, the movement of the belts is non- directional.
