Abstract
1,075,073. Electrical heating resistors. KANTHAL A.B. Aug. 27, 1964 [Aug. 27, 1963], No. 35218/64. Heading H5H. To prevent adhesion between a helical, molybdenum silicide, electrical heating resistor 1 and its support rod 3 caused by the formation of quartz glass films on the co-operating surfaces of these members, a layer 4 of insulating material which does not adhere to the quartz glass films is interposed between the resistor and the rod. The layer 4 is preferably mullite and may be flame-sprayed directly on to the rod 3 or may be in the form of one or more tubes threaded on to the rod. Various materials suitable for the resistor and rod are specified.
