Abstract

1,069,611. Electric selective signalling; playing recorded alarms. TOKYO KEIKI SEIZOSHO KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Feb. 8, 1965 [Feb. 12, 1964], No. 5338/65. Headings G4H and G5R. Apparatus for providing audible alarm signals comprises contacts (a, Fig. 1, not shown) producing signals when corresponding quantities (A1-An) depart from given limits to pick up relays in stores (M1-Mn), an instructor circuit (T) being controlled by contacts (CO) of the relays to cause stepping of a switch to select one of a number of sources (B1-Bn) of recorded information so that a loud-speaker (SP) gives the nature of the trouble and instructions to deal with it. When one of the relay stores (M1-Mn) operates, a signal is passed through a corresponding diode (D1-Dn) to switch on an amplifier (AM1) and energize a stepping coil (L3) of ganged switches (SW1- SW3). The wiper (f10) steps round until it finds the terminal (f11-f1n) having a signal. Amplifier (AM2) is then switched on to switch amplifier (AM1) off and stop the stepping. Relay (L2) is energized by amplifier (AM2) to close contacts (do, eo) applying power to speaker amplifier (AM3) and tape drive motor (M7). Wiper (f20) selects the corresponding memory circuit preparatory to resetting, and wiper (f30) selects the appropriate tape read head (H1-Hn) connecting the signal to the amplifier (AM3). The appropriate message is then given by the loud-speaker and, being on an endless tape, it repeats until the operator presses a reset key (K). At the next message end contacts (go and ho) then close so that current is applied via wiper (f20) to the selected memory (M1-Mn) which is thereby reset. The motor then stops and the message ceases.
