Abstract

1,069,451. Mechanical garages. H.R.M.C. DES FRANCS. Jan. 11, 1965 [Jan. 10, 1964], No. 1122/65. Heading B8E. A multi-storey garage comprises a plurality of annular platforms 4, Fig. 3, rotatably supported by rollers 3, 3a on concentric cylinders 1, 7, each platform having a rack 5, Fig. 4 (not shown), drivably engaged by a gear 6 and having an inwardly sloping surface for supporting vehicles. Guides 8, Fig. 2 (not shown), are provided on the platform to correctly align the vehicles. One or more lifts 9 are provided externally of the cylinder 7, each lift having an inwardly sloping floor provided with a removable wedge 10 for releasing the vehicle when the lift reaches a selected platform. Disposed within the cylinder 1 opposite each lift and at each platform level is a pneumatically or hydraulically operated screw jack 11 having a padded end 12 for pushing a vehicle from the platform into the lift, the wedge 10 in the latter being moved accordingly. The garage may be underground, Fig. 5 (not shown). A lift and a staircase may be provided inside the cylinder 1. The garage may be automatically operated.
