Abstract

1,066,544. Buttons. SCRU-FIX Ltd. July 2, 1965 [April 22, 1964], No. 16602/64. Heading A3H. A button comprises a head 10 with an axially bored shank 24 and a base plate 11 from which projects a buttress threaded stem 18 (as shown) which pierces a piece of material 12 and is pushed into the axial passage 19 in the shank 24. The head 10 may be made of plastics material and the stem 18 of the base plate may be made of metal. The head 17 of the stem is embedded in a moulded plastics part 16. The lower surface of flange 15 of the shank and the upper surface of the base plate may have material gripping serrations. A washer 22 may be rotatively or non rotatively secured to a boss 23 on the shank and interposed between the end of the shank and the material. The stem 18 may be detached from the head by unscrewing the stem. The passage 19 may acquire a screw thread to allow unscrewing the stem 18 of plate 11. The button head may have a cover.
