Abstract
1,66,481. Photographic recording apparatus. TELFORD PRODUCTS Ltd. April 13, 1964 [Jan.14, 1963], No.1550/63. Heading G2A. A photographic recording apparatus having a light hood adapted to be secured to an imageforming device (e.g. an oscilloscope) also has a lens mounting plate slidably attached to said hood for movement normal to the image plane, and a camera back fixed to the lens mounting plate. As shown, the apparatus is attached to the oscilloscope or other device (not shown) by a panel 2, to which is hinged a housing 8. Within this is mounted a semi-transparent mirror 16, which reflects the image upwards to be reflected by a second mirror into a viewing section 12, 18. The mirror 16 is hinged, so that it can be retracted out of the light path if required. The camera proper is built up on a cast plate 50, which has a pair of bosses 52 to each of which is secured a tube 54. These tubes enter as a slide fit into cylindrical lugs 30 on the housing 8, and can be moved axially therein by rack and pinion means operated by a knob 40, so that the whole camera is adjustable towards or away from panel 2 for focusing purposes. On the front of plate 50 is detachably secured the lens mount 60 carrying the lens assembly 62. A hood 64 at the front of the assembly fits into a felt sealing ring 42 in the housing 8. Fitting into a circular recess 66 at the rear of plate 50 is a square slide mount 68 carrying a square slide plate 72 , Fig. 4 (not shown). Plate 72 can be displaced in mount 68 so as to record a number of separate exposures on the one plate. The mount 68 can also be rotated in the recess 66 about the optical axis. A camera back 80 carrying a dark slide 82 is attached to plate 72 so as to be readily detachable and interchangeable. The lens mount 60 is also readily interchangeable. A supplementary housing carrying an illuminated graticule Fig. 7 (not shown) may be attached to the underside of housing 8 by removing a detachable cover plate 24, which graticule can be photographed simultaneously with the image.
