Abstract

Flameproof compositions comprise an organic high polymeric plastic material selected from natural and synthetic rubber, polyester resins, polyethylene, cellulose acetate butyrate and polystyrene, together with 7.2-61 weight per cent of aluminium hydroxide, 4.2 to 30 weight per cent of antimony oxide and 0.07 to 9.1 weight per cent of an antioxidant. Specified antioxidants are 4,41-thiobis-(6-t-butyl-m-cresol) and 4,41 - thiobis - (6 - t - butyl phenol). Examples describe compositions comprising polyethylene, aluminium hydroxide, antimony oxide and antioxidant.
