Abstract
1,065,688. Insulating wires. SUDDEUTSCHE KABELWERKE, ZWEIGNIEDERLASSUNG DER VEREINIGTE DEUTSCHE METALLWERKE A.G. June 16, 1964 [June 20, 1963], No. 24980/64. Heading B5A. [Also in Division H1] A plurality of conducting wires (2), drawn from drums (1) are passed through a bath (3) of adhesive (4) sandwiched between sheets 19, 20 of plastics material, e.g. foamed polystyrene, and then passed between co-operating grooved rollers (8) and (9), to shape the sheets around the wire and to bond the sheets thereto (see Fig. 3, not shown). The sheet is then cut into discrete wire containing strips by a series of vertically disposed electrically heated wire at station (23), the wire simultaneously welding the sheets together at their edges.
