Abstract
1,063,506. Automatic pistols. HECKLER & KOCH G.m.b.H. Feb. 1, 1965 [Feb. 18, 1964], No. 4286/65. Heading F3C. An automatic pistol has a body 1 which supports an interchangeable barrel 2 and carries a breech block carrier 5 having a breech block 4. A firing pin 8 adapted to be struck by a hammer 14 is carried in an oversize bore 7 in the breech block and the tip thereof is accommodated in a central aperture 21 or in an eccentric aperture 22 formed in a plate 15 secured to the breech block by a screw 16 according to the type of ammunition to be used. If the pistol is to be used with a different type of ammunition the barrel merely has to be changed and the tip of the pin 8 placed in the appropriate aperture. There may be a number of eccentric apertures formed in the plate 15 and the latter may be integral with the breech block. The pin 8 is guided in one of the apertures 21, 22 by a thickened portion 8a formed thereon and is also guided in a safety roller 11 inserted in a crossbore of the breech block. A sloped portion 13 of the roller is so shaped that rotation of the latter in the counter clockwise direction lowers the rear end of the pin out of the path of the hammer 14. The pin 8 may bo removed from one aperture and inserted in another by laterally removing the roller 11. Alternatively a slot may be formed in the lower part of the breech block through which the rear end of the pin could be removed after the pin had been pushed forwardly to compress spring 9. If a removable plate 15 is provided, that may be removed to permit the spring pin to be inserted in another aperture thereof.
