Abstract

1,062,512. Grinding. ABRACUTS Ltd. Feb. 14, 1966, No. 6357/65. Heading B3D. An apparatus for chasing or abrading the surfaces of walls, floors, and the like comprises an abrasive wheel 12 mounted on a driven shaft 11 of an electric motor in a casing 10, a guard or shield 13 to enshroud a part of the wheel and forming, with the wheel and motor, a unitary assembly having handles 14, 15, a flexible duct 19 leading from the guard to a container 20, and a suction means for drawing dust produced during working into the guard along the duct and into the container. The suction means, which consists of an electric motor 16 driving a fan in a housing 17 coupled at 18 to the duct 19, is mounted on a harness 21 for fitting to the body of an operator.
