Abstract

1,062,355. Controlling gas burners. R. & A. MAIN Ltd. Feb. 14, 1966 [May 7, 1965], No. 19433/65. Addition to 992,982. Heading F4T. A control mechanism for a multi-jet gas burner having a number of sections each controlled by a spring-closed valve comprises a separate push-button-actuated transmission for each valve, the transmissions being so interlinked that actuation of one button in one direction opens its valve, actuation of a second button opens both its valve and the first valve, actuation of a third button opens three valves and so on. Each valve is engaged by an adjustable pad on one arm 27 of a three-armed bell-crank rocker, each rocker being overlapped by a part of the next rocker so that depression of push-rod 35 opens the first valve, depression of rod 36 opens both the first and second valves and so on, the various rods being retained in depressed position by a latch bar releasable by a button 51.
