The description is identical with that of the parent but the claims are directed to apparatus for measuring a property of a material comprising first and second electric signal sources for providing respective signals at different frequencies in a predetermined relationship, both said sources being coupled to spaced apart electrodes arranged for applying the signals from said sources to a portion of the dielectric material so that the property to be measured modifies the relationship, circuit means for providing an output signal having a value determined by the modification, and control means responsive to the output signal for varying the signal provided by one of the two sources to compensate for the modifications and thereby provide an indication of the property.
