The envelope (A), Fig. 1 (not shown) of an inflatable body attachment for marine lifesaving is provided with an aperture, through which the gas bottle or cartridge (N) and handle (O) of the self-inflation unit can be successively passed and which is normally sealed by a screw plug (K). A pocket (P) of permeable fabric is provided within the envelope (A) to locate the self-inflation unit after insertion.
