Abstract

1,058,325. Moulding bricks. BRœCK SCHLOSSER & CO. G.m.b.H. March 23, 1965 [Aug. 21, 1964], No. 12350/65. Heading B5A. In an up-stroke hydraulic brick making press the mould volume to be filled with granular material is adjustable in accordance with the thickness of the brick made in a preceding cycle. The press comprises a hopper 19, a reciprocating feed and take-out box, a take-off belt 11 and a mould 1, the bottom of which comprises a plunger 4. The detecting mechanism comprises rollers 21 connected to a rod 22 which positions a vane 24 to co-operate with light responsive means 25, the output signal from which is fed to means controlling the position of two switches which co-operate with a cam movable with the plunger 4. The switches control slide valves which control the supplies from high and low pressure pumps to the hydraulic motor driving the plunger.
