Abstract

A fabric comprises two groups of parallel nylon strands laid in crossing relationship and bonded at the points of neutral contact by a thermochemical fusion process wherein the temperature of the strands has been maintained below the melting temperature of nylon. The nylon may be polyhexamethylene adipamide or polymeric E-aminocaproic acid. The bonding solution is an aqueous solution of chloral hydrate. Several examples of methods of formation of such fabrics are described.
