1,056,753. Pulse radar. SOC. ALSACIENNE DE CONSTRUCTIONS ATOMIQUES, DE TELECOMMUNICATIONS ET ELECTRONIQUE, EN ABREGE "ALCATEL." Oct. 5, 1963 [Oct. 16, 1962], No. 40626/63. Heading H4D. In a pulse radar a short pulse (e.g. 0À2 Ás.) of carrier wave is applied to two phase-shift networks, both having a group propagation time linear with frequency but that of one being of opposite slope to that of the other, the ensuing long (e.g. 200 Ás.) frequency-modulated pulses are gated such that an initial portion of one long pulse and a final portion of the other long pulse are amplified and radiated (the portions being e.g. each 10 Ás. long), the echo pulses are fed to respective phase-shift networks such that they are time-compressed, and the time interval between the compressed pulses is measured to give target radial velocity. The phase-shift networks are of the resistance-capacitance type.
