Abstract

A flexible abrasive-coated cloth comprises a cloth backing having a layer of abrasive grains secured to one face by means of an adhesive layer comprising a mixture of animal glue, a water-soluble high boiling plasticizer, for example hexanetriol, and a major proportion of an elastomer, for example a butadiene-styrene copolymer. The cloth may be made by applying the adhesive in aqueous form to the cloth, coating with the abrasive grains, and setting the adhesive by partial drying.
